Vessel Description
“Freeway” is a Freedom 35 sailing cruiser designed by Gary Hoyt and built by Freedom Yachts in Isle of Man. She has a traditional, full-bodied, heavy displacement hull that is well suited to offshore passages as well as coastal cruising. Her unusual rig design with twin unstayed carbon fibre masts is reported to be very easy to sail, especially short-handed, and remarkably fast off the wind. The accommodation is comfortable, and she has an aft cabin which provides good privacy when guests are aboard. With 2 ARCs completed, she has proven to be a very capable yacht and is certainly well worth viewing.
Please call before travelling as this vessel is not at our home marina.

Other
“Freeway” has carbon-fibre masts which were much preferred to the alternative alloy mast version that were offered in an effort to reduce production costs. She also has normal booms and mast tracks which are much simpler and a big improvement over the wishbone booms and sleeved mainsails. The rig is known to be strong and reliable.
“Freeway” has completed 2 trans-Atlantic ARC races so is proven to be a very capable, long-distance cruising yacht!
Owner's Remarks
"We have enjoyed Freeway very much in our time of owning her, a good strong and safe boat easily sailed by two people that always gets attention either when sailing or moored. Unfortunately health issues have forced us to part with a great boat. "
